Hospersa accords occupational health and safety the utmost priority and allocates significant resources towards ensuring that our members work in safe and healthy environments. Hospersa offers quality training programmes on occupational health and safety to our shop stewards and keeps abreast of health and safety issues. Hospersa has contributed to the development of international publications and training materials dealing with occupational health and safety.

Hospersa has dedicated shop stewards within the union tasked with addressing occupational health and safety.

The union encourages shop stewards to serve on workplace Health and Safety Committees and report transgressions to the employer, and authorities if need be. Hospersa has had many successes in addressing gaps in health and safety provisions in the workplace.

Hospersa also develops awareness and action campaigns addressing health and safety in the workplace.
