RE: NOTICE OF STRIKE FROM HOSPERSA
We refer to our letter dated 27 July 2010, wherein you were informed that Hospersa has given notice to embark on a strike with effect from 30 July 2010. Hospersa has today been copied with a letter from the Acting Director-General of the DPSA, stating the following:
“Please inform HOSPERSA and NUPSAW of the required 7 days’ notice period and obtain written confirmation from them by 12:00, 29 July 2010, that the intended strike action will not commence on the dates indicated in their respective letters of 27 July 2010.
If the intended strike action continues in non-compliance with the LRA, it will be an unprotected strike and the employer intends to bring an application in the Labour Court for the necessary interdict.”
Hospersa has today re-submitted an application in terms of Section 64 (1) (d) of the Labour Relations Act, 1995 (LRA) of our intention to commence our strike action with effect from 4 August 2010.
A telephone conference has been scheduled for tomorrow night Thursday 29th July 2010 at 18h00 between the National Office Bearers and the Provincial Chairpersons.
