Provincial congress
The affairs of Hospersa in a province are controlled by its provincial congress, the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC).
The PEC manages the affairs of Hospersa.
The members of the PEC are elected as follows:
- The provincial office bearers.
- One representative from each local shop steward council for every 1 000 members or part thereof.
- The sectoral representatives as defined.
Shop stewards
Shop stewards are elected among the members in every establishment. Shop stewards act as employee or group representatives in a branch committee.
Members are nominated in writing or get nominated at a general meeting by the members of the relevant establishment.
Notices of shop steward elections are displayed on notice boards at least 14 days prior to an election. Written notice is given to all members eligible to participate at least three days prior to its commencement.
Shop steward branch committees
The shop stewards in any establishment jointly form the branch committee.
The branch committee manages the affairs of the union in the establishment where they are employed.
National Structures
National congress
The national congress is the supreme governing body of Hospersa and is convened at least once every five years.
National executive committee (NEC)
The NEC manages the affairs of Hospersa between national congresses.
The NEC shall consist of a president, three vice-presidents, a national treasurer, the nine provincial chairpersons, one committee member to represent the proportional representation of provinces with more than 5 000 members, the national gender representative, the sectoral representatives and a general secretary.

Fincom
The Fincom performs inspections of Hospersa's financial records, approves payment of accounts and benefits, and scrutinises budgets and financial statements.
The Fincom consists of the vice president finance, the general secretary and the provincial treasurers.
